DUBAI, 30th May, 2025 (WAM)-- Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed direct flights from Dubai to Skardu, a major tourist destination in northern Pakistan, the Pakistani consulate in Dubai announced on Friday.
To commemorate the occasion, a cake-cutting ceremony was held at the PIA office in Dubai. The event was attended by Hussain Muhammad, Consul-General of Pakistan in Dubai, along with officials and members of the airline staff.
The ceremony also welcomed members of an international tourist group traveling on the inaugural flight, highlighting the growing global interest in Pakistan’s scenic Gilgit-Baltistan region.
PIA’s Regional Manager, Sarmad Aizaz, and his team hosted the celebration, underscoring the airline’s commitment to promoting tourism and enhancing people-to-people connections between the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan.
