Egyptian FM stresses importance of ending war in Gaza

CAIRO, 1st June, 2025 (WAM) -- Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty emphasised the urgent need for an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and for ensuring full and unconditional access to humanitarian aid.

He affirmed that ending the worsening humanitarian suffering in the Strip must be a priority for the international community at this critical stage.

This came during a phone call received by Minister Abdelatty from Steve Witkoff, the US President’s Special Envoy to the Middle East.

Abdelatty stressed that a permanent and just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict requires a comprehensive political settlement that meets the aspirations of the region’s peoples and aligns with US President Donald Trump’s vision for achieving real and sustainable peace in the Middle East.
