Strong community turnout marks Dubai Police’s 69th anniversary celebration

DUBAI, 2nd June, 2025 (WAM) -- Dubai Police, represented by Naif Police Station and the Positive Spirit Council, organised a community parade through the residential and commercial areas of Naif to mark the 69th anniversary of the force’s founding on 1st June 1956.

The event was attended by Expert Major General Dr Muhammad Isa Al Adhab, Director of the Mounted Police Station and Chairman of the Police Stations Board of Directors; Expert Brigadier Omar Ashour, Deputy Director of Naif Police Station; Ms Fatima Buhjair, Chair of the Positive Spirit Council; First Lieutenant Saeed Ghadir, Vice Chair of the Council; along with a number of officers, staff, and a large gathering of residents and visitors from the Naif area.

The celebratory parade featured participation from various Dubai Police units, including the Mounted Police, K9 Security Inspection Unit, Police Band, Foot Patrols, Bicycle and Motorcycle Units, Vintage Patrol Cars, Tourist Police, the “Ghiath” Smart Patrol, SWAT Tactical Vehicle, Helicopter Unit, Riot Control Vehicles, and the ceremonial Iftar Cannon.

Major General Al Adhab commended all participating teams for their efforts and the high level of community engagement witnessed during the event. He emphasised Dubai Police’s ongoing commitment to organising public initiatives that strengthen community relations and reflect the force’s civilised image and the high standard of safety and security in the emirate.

Dubai Police was established in June 1956, with Naif Fort serving as its original headquarters until 1973. The historical site was later converted into Naif Police Station.
