HONIARA, 23rd October, 2025 (WAM) -- A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean on Thursday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The epicentre of the quake was located 83 kilometres west of Kirakira, at a depth of 59.8 kilometres, USGS said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The Solomon Islands lie within the Pacific Ring of Fire, a region known for frequent seismic activity and strong earthquakes.
