MANILA, 8th February, 2026 (WAM) -- Eight people have been killed after tropical storm Basyang swept across several areas of the Philippines.
The Philippine Office of Civil Defense said today that four of the victims were killed in Cagayan de Oro City after a landslide destroyed a residential area, while three others died in Iligan City due to flooding. Another person drowned in Agusan del Norte province.
The office noted that efforts are continuing to verify the final death toll.
