ABU DHABI, 24th August, 2026 (WAM) -- Zayed National Museum will mark its first Emirati Women’s Day in its first year of operations with a three-day programme celebrating the contributions, achievements and leadership of women in the UAE.
Running from 28th to 30th August, Weekends at Zayed National Museum: Emirati Women’s Day will feature workshops, artisan demonstrations, tours and live performances led by Emirati artists.
The programme includes Between the Past and Present, a workshop introducing participants to traditional Talli and Khous handicrafts, highlighting heritage techniques and the enduring role of Emirati culture.
Mix and Make with Chef Abeer Allouz will guide visitors through preparing date-based treats inspired by UAE flavours and the long-standing place of dates in Emirati cuisine.
Visitors can also take part in Create Your Own Personalised Scent, where participants will create a signature perfume using Emirati and internationally inspired scents and personalise the bottle with a custom label.
Live musical performances will run throughout the three days, featuring Elham Al Marzooqi on cello, Mariam Al Shaloubi on qanun, Alya Alshamsi on oud and Noura AlShaer on piano.
The Women of the Nation tour will also continue every Thursday and Saturday until 26th September, highlighting women whose contributions have shaped Emirati society across generations.
The tour explores the role of women in leadership, community support, preserving traditions and passing knowledge between generations.
Workshop sessions will take place throughout the day at Al Liwan and the Conference Room, while musical performances will be staged at the Performance Area and Al Liwan.
The Women of the Nation tour will run from 15:00 to 15:45 in the Permanent Galleries. Visitors are encouraged to wear traditional Emirati attire and join the celebrations.
