40 participants join Al Rawi Programme for Preparing Storytellers

SHARJAH, 24th August, 2026 (WAM) -- Aisha Al Hossan, Director of the Arabian Heritage Centre, said the second edition of Al Rawi Programme for Preparing Storytellers was launched on Monday at the centre, with 40 participants from various segments of society, the American University of Sharjah, Al Qasimia University, and Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators.

The programme is part of the pre-event activities for the 26th edition of the Sharjah International Narrator Forum. Over four days, participants will learn about various aspects of storytelling arts and will be involved in the forum’s activities, as well as future events organised by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage.

In statements to "Sharjah 24," Al Hossan said the programme underscores the Sharjah Institute for Heritage’s commitment to preparing storytellers and introducing them to the elements of storytelling and components of heritage tales. The workshop aims to attract creative talents, hone their storytelling skills, and explore innovative ways of presenting and crafting experiences in an engaging narrative style.

Over four days, the programme explores the concept of storytelling throughout history, its development and various techniques, with practical applications of storytelling performance techniques and their use in narrating texts.
