WELLINGTON, 15th October, 2026 (WAM) -- A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the east coast of the North Island, near Otorohanga, New Zealand, on Thursday.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 286 kilometres, 44 kilometres east of Otorohanga.
