New book on Jebel Dhanna sulphur mines launched --1st Add xxx xxx camles. In a Foreword to the book, ADCO General Manager Andre van Strijp says: "The presence of mine shafts at Jebel Dhanna was first noted during the building of the ADCO storage tanks over forty years ago, and it was as a result of an archaeological baseline study commissioned by ADCO as part of its Health, Safety and Environment policy that these shafts were first recorded as part of the UAE's heritage." "ADCO is pleased to be associated with this work. Our Company's HSE policy includes a commitment to the identification, recording and investigation of sites that reflect the country's archaeological and cultural heritage, and we are delighted that the country's only sulphur mines - the only ones known on the Arabian peninsula - lie within ADCO's operational area. The Company is firmly committed to their protection. " The ADIAS Executive Director, Peter Hellyer, today welcomed ADCO's support. "ADCO has supported our work at Jebel Dhanna from the very beginning, and has now made it possible for us to publish the results of our investigations, so that they can reach a wider audience. We have worked closely with ADCO for many years, and are delighted to that the book has been published in time for the Company's 40th anniversary celebrations." WAM-VV-PH 10 57 CCCCQQE
