Zayed receives Senegalese President Abu Dhabi, Feb. 22, 2004 (WAM) -- President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan received here in the afternoon of today at the Al Bahr Palace, Senegalese President, Abdoulaye Wade. During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged ideas on current international issues. They discussed bilateral relations and ways to enahnce them. The two leaders decorated each other with the highest orders of their respective countries, with Sheikh Zayed decorating President Wade with the +Order of Zayed+, the highest order the UAE gives to heads of state in recognition of their distinguished services to their peoples, while the Senegalese President also decorated Sheikh Zayed with Senegal's highest national order, the +National Order of Merit+, in recognition of the UAE President's service to his people and for his nationalism stances in support of Arab and Islamic issues. Present at the meeting were Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Lt. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Deputy Crown Prince and Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Major General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Interior Ministry Under Secretary, Brigadier Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Commander of the Presidential Guards, Sheikh Nasser bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Director General of the President's Office, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Economic Department, Sheikh Dhiyab bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Director of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority, Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Guest House and Protocol Department, Colonel Sheikh Saeed bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Municipality and Town Planning Department, Dr. Mana bin Saeed Al Otaiba, Special Advisor to the President, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Civil Aviation Department, Hamad Abdul Rahman Al Madfa, Minister of Health, who is also the Head of the Honorary Mission accompanying the Senegalese President, Ali Salim Al Kitbi, Director of the President's Office and Isa Hamad Abu Shehab, UAE Ambassador to Morocco, who is also the UAE non-Resident Ambassador to Senegal.
