006/CENTRAL BANK-SILVER COIN

ABU DHABI, DEC 13 (WAM)-The UAE Central Bank will be issuing a commemorative silver coin of Dh 25 denomination and a commemorative dirham, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the first shipment of oil from Abu Al Bukhoosh Field in Abu Dhabi Emirate.

The coins will be issued with effect from December 15. The face of the commemorative coin depicts the portrait of H.H. President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The back of both the commemorative coin and the commemorative dirham depict the logo of this occasion, the bank said in a statement today.

Those interested in purchasing the coin can do so from tellers at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank cash counters. Each coin will be sold at its face value, plus Dh 15 as a nominal premium.

The commemorative dirham will be put in circulation as per usual pratice, the statement said.

The commemorative silver coin weighs 20gms and is 28 mm in diameter. The commemorative dirham coin weighs 6.4 gms and is 24 mm in diameter.
