ABU DHABI, Mar 9, 2003 (WAM) --Masaaki Imai, founder of the KAIZEN management principle for continuous improvement and Chairman of KAIZEN Institute in Japan, will be a key speaker at the 'Quest for Excellence' conference being organised by the Department of Economic Development (DED) at its auditorium on March 10 and 11. He will be speaking on " Roadmap to World Class Excellence - Quality, Kaizen and Flow", which is also the title of his latest book, according to reports in the UAE's dailies. Essa Kazim, Coordinator General of Dubai Quality Award and the Director General of Dubai Financial Market (DFM), said: " This conference is an ongoing initiative by the DED to highlight the pursuit of excellence by underlining the fundamentals of business and service excellence, to attain sustained success in the world of business. The issues under discussion represent knowledge building blocks that lie at the heart of quality management and form the underlying principles behind the Dubai Quality Award." He added: "Business Excellence has always been one of the strategic objectives of the DED and the main aim behind the institution of the Dubai Quality Award. Conferences of this nature form part of the services offered absolutely free of charge to the members of Dubai's private and public sectors. Companies interested in applying for the DQA would greatly benefit from their representatives attending this event." He said the conference will also address the criteria for excellence as laid down by the two-part model of DQA and underline the means by which they can be applied to the benefit of businesses in Dubai.
