Hamdan bin Zayed receives envoys of Yemen, Bahrain
During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan received a letter from Abu Bakr Al Qurbi, Yemen's Foreign Minister, dealing with bilateral relations and means to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The Yemeni Ambassador told WAM that he conveyed to Sheikh Hamdan the greetings of Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh to President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his thanks to the support given by the UAE to Yemen's view on the GCC-Yemen relations and partnership.
The Ambassador lauded Sheikh Khalifa's directives to finance construction of two dams in the Yemeni provinces of Abyan and Sana'a, as well as maintenance of Ma'reb dam's water canals.
He also expressed his country's appreciation to the efforts being made by the UAE Red Crescent Society, under Sheikh Hamdan's chairmanship, in support of the Yemeni people. He pointed out to the "great role played by the UAE RCS in implementing several humanitarian and relief projects and their health initiatives in Yemeni provinces, including open heat surgeries and treatment of eye diseases." Sheikh Hamadan received afterwards Sheikh Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain, and discussed with him bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.
The meetings were attended by Sultan bin Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Chief of the Deputy Prime Minister's Court and Director of the office of State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Obeid Salem Al Za'abi, Director of Protocol at the Foreign Ministry.
