Central Bank to issue commemorative coins on Shaikha Fatima
The Gold coin, which weighs 40 grammes and 40 millimetre diametre, is 91.6% pure gold and 8.4% bronze, while the Silver coin, which will be in AED50 dirham denomination, weighs 40 grammes in 40 millimetre diametre. It is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% bronze.
The head side of the two coins has the image of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan while the tail side bears the logo of the occasion.
The commemorative dirham which is 24 millimetre in diametre and weighing 6.4 grammes, is 75% bronze and 25% nickel. The head side is same as the ordinary dirham coin but the tail side bears the logo of the occasion.
The Central Bank urged all those interested in the coins to purchase them from the banks throughout the country. It said the Gold coin would be sold on the basis of the price of Gold on the selling day with a surcharge of AED60, the Silver coin would be sold on its nominal value with a surcharge of AED10, while the commemorative dirham coin will be circulated in the normal way.
