Abu Dhabi taxi license owners to benefit from new system
Abu Dhabi, Oct. 12th, 2006 (WAM) - The undergoing phasing out of Abu Dhabi taxi system will enable existing taxi license holders to benefit from a life-long compensation plan.

According to a recent study conducted by the Taxi Transport Regulation Centre, the average monthly revenue of each license owner is Dh 4,000 to 5,000, almost 50% of it goes to operating expenses.

"Also deducting the driver's salary, the owner gets an average monthly revenue of Dh 1,200 in Abu Dhabi and Dh 1,000 in Al Ain.

"Each owner will be receive Dh 1,000 monthly as a compensation.

The compensations will come from a dedicated fund," Khalid Al Rashedi, TTRC General Manager said.
