Sheikh Khalifa confers on out-going Omani Ambassador "Order of Zayed II"

Abu Dhabi , Sept. 23, 2007, (WAM) -- President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has conferred the "Order of Zayed II" on the outgoing Omani Ambassador, Sheikh Mohammed bin Marhoon Al Maamari , in recognition of the great efforts he exerted during his tenure in the UAE.

Al Maamari, who was decorated by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Foreign Minister on behalf of Sheikh Khalifa, has played a significant role in further strengthening the bilateral relations between the UAE and his country. Sheikh Abdullah wished the out-going Ambassador success in his future missions and thanked him for the efforts he exerted during his tenure in the UAE.

For his part, Al Maamari expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Khalifa for the honour done to him, and hailed the UAE President's prudent policy and the outstanding role that he plays at the regional and international levels, and thanked the UAE leaders and people for the hospitality and cooperation he found in this country.

Sheikh Abdullah received after that Andrey Zakharov, the Russian Ambassador with whom he discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and the ways to boost them.

The two meetings were attended by Ambassador Rashid Harib Al Falahi, the Director of the office of the Foreign Minister and Khalifa Isa Al Falasi, Deputy Director of the office of the Foreign Minister.
