Sharjah Zoo attracts over 12,000 visitors during the Eid

WAM Sharjah, Oct. 7, 2008 (WAM) -- The Arabian Peninsula Animal Centre here in Sharjah attracted more than 12,500 visitors during the Eid el-Fitr holidays.

According to Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Midfa, Director General of Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPPA), the figure includes 5,073 UAE nationals, 4,812 Asians, 2,120 Arabs and 495 other nationalities.

He said the management of the centre had benefited from their previous experience during similar occasions and made adequate preparations which facilitated the smooth running of the facility during this year's Eid holidays.
