RIYADH, 8th October, 2017 (WAM) -- Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, has said that the Saudi-led military Coalition Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen is doing all it can to avoid harming civilians and children in Yemen, reiterating the coalition's commitment to follow international humanitarian laws in military operations.
The GCC Secretary-General expressed his rejection of statistics recently released by a UN report, saying they were taken from unreliable sources loyal to the Houthi-Saleh group, highlighting another UN report which commended the coalition's efforts on protecting children in armed conflict.
Dr. Al-Zayani also expressed hope that the United Nations will rely on credible and reliable sources and review such information, statistics and classifications.
