DHAHRAN, 15th April, 2018 (WAM) -- The 29th Arab Summit has affirmed Arab leaders' continued support for constitutional legitimacy in Yemen under the leadership of Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi and the measures taken by his government to put an end to the coup staged by the Houthi militias and restore peace to all Yemeni governorates.

In the summit's final communique issued this evening, the Arab leaders condemned the myriad ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi militia towards several cities in Saudi Arabia.

The final communique of the "Jerusalem Summit", held in the eastern city of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, expressed support for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in their efforts to protect themselves against external threats.

The Arab leaders called on Iran to halt its support to the Houthi militia and other similar groups to allow efforts for peace in Yemen in accordance with the UNSC resolution 2216 supporting the unity and independency of the Arab country, the GCC initiative, and the outcomes of the Yemeni national dialogue.

They lauded efforts made to help the Yemeni people overcome their crisis through humanitarian assistance.

Arab leaders commended the Saudi-led Arab coalition in support of the legitimate Yemeni government, affirming that Arabs refused any external interferences in issues connected with Arab national security.

They wished full success for the new UN envoy in his mission in Yemen and supported his efforts to resume the peace process according to the Gulf Initiative, the Comprehensive National Dialogue and UNSC Resolution 2216 as well as all other relevant international resolutions aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement to the situation in Yemen.
