DUBAI, 16th February, 2022 (WAM) -- Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, attended the panel discussion about "Innovation in Home Businesses" which was organised by the Ministry of the "UAE Innovates-February 2022" and Innovation Week in Expo 2020 Dubai.
The session supports sustainable development based on the UAE's vision and future directives, considering innovation a top priority in the Ministry.
The panel discussion was held in ‘Festival Garden’ space hosting the activities of "UAE Innovates" in Expo and attended by the staff of the Ministry, young people and directors in addition to the Mohammad Bin Rashid Innovation Centre and a number of Expo 2020 Dubai visitors.
Buhumaid emphasised that the ministry is keen to promote national products and innovative productive ideas within home businesses, highlight outstanding experiences and success stories for national entrepreneurs and small business owners to stimulate the aspirations of the UAE productive families.
The panel discussion moderated by Aisha Al-Najjar, Director of Al Fujairah People of Determination Center discussed ways and methods of promoting innovation to support home businesses. She spoke about of reality themes, such as: Are there innovative home businesses? How do we employ innovation culture in home businesses? The role of enterprises in supporting home businesses.
A number of distinguished Emirati productive families entrepreneurs participated in the session, including Hamad Moosa Al Balooshi, owner of "Games" project, Taghreed Eid Obaid Al-Mehrezi, owner of art works project, and Buthaina Salem Butti Al-Shamsi, owner of a handicraft doll project; they also delivered speeches about their home businesses participating in Al Sana project.
The UAE productive distinguished entrepreneurs lauded the ministry's role in supporting their dreams and aspirations to develop their productive ideas and increase their competitiveness, thereby achieving more success and profits thanks to the guidance, follow-up and sustainable rehabilitation, in addition to their participation in more outlets and exhibitions for family productive families in general.
The "Innovation in Home Businesses" panel discussion follows the ministry's launch of the Innovation Charter, as part of strengthening efforts to enhance the innovative approach on ground through the ministry's services to all community members.
