The President's Court announces the Death of Hamooda bin Ali
ABU DHABI, SEPT. 8, 2001 (WAM)--With deep sorrow and sadness the Court of President H.H Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan announced the death of Lt. General Hamooda bin Ali, the President's Private Adviser and former Minister of Interior, who died today as a result of a severe heart attack. The late was a faithful UAE son, who took a great part in the establishment of the country, boosting of its situation and consolidation of its basic elements since it was established until his last minute of life. We pray to Allah to have mercy upon the deceased and grant patience to us in general and to his family in particular to bear the loss. The deceased was born in 1943 and was Minister of State for Interior from 1972 to Nov. 20, 1990, where was appointed as Minister of Interior upto 1992. In Dec. 30, 1992 Sheikh Zayed issued a Federal Decree by which he was appointed as the President's Private Adviser and was promoted to the rank of Lt. General. WAM/OA
