Khalifa receives Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Premier (updated)
Abu Dhabi, Jan. 29th, 2007 (WAM)--President H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received here Monday Kuwait's Crown Prince, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah and Prime Minister, Sheikh Nasser Muhammad al-Ahmad al-Sabah.
Sheikh Nawaf and Sheikh Nasser arrived in the UAE earlier in the day as part of a tour in the region.
The Kuwaiti officials were received by Sheikh Khalifa in the presence of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
During the meeting, they reviewed fraternal ties between the two countries and ways to boost them in all areas within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). They exchanged views on the latest developments on the regional and international scenes and discussed a number of issues of mutual interest.
The Kuwaiti visitors expressed profound happiness for visiting the UAE and meeting with the UAE President. This, they said, reflects the deeply rooted and profound fraternal ties between the two countries.
Sheikh Khalifa decorated the Kuwaiti Crown Prince with the "Order of Zayed" and the Kuwaiti Premier with the "Order of Union" in appreciation of the strong fraternal ties between the two countries.
The UAE President held a luncheon in honour of his guests and their entourage.
Present at the meeting and the luncheon were Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, Sheikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Interior Minister, who is also the Head of the Honorary Mission accompanying the Kuwaiti senior officials, a number of sheikhs, ministers and senior officials, as well as Hassan Salim Obeid Al Khayyal, UAE Ambassador to Kuwait and Faisal Abdullah Ibrahim Al Mash'an, Kuwaiti Ambassador.
