UAQ Ruler establishes UAQ Innovation Award

UMM AL QAIWAIN, 22nd November, 2015 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, has issued an Emiri Decree No. 3 of 2015, on the establishment of the Umm al-Qaiwain Innovation Award to cope with the country's strategic vision regarding innovation.

Under the decree, the award is aimed at enhancing competitiveness among individuals, entities, federal and local departments, institutions and companies. It also aims to diversify knowledge based economy, bring out the best innovative practices and establish a culture of innovation in institutional work environment, as well as improve the quality of life.

The decree stipulates that the award will have a board of trustees and a decision to appoint them will be issued by the Ruler. The Award's Board of Trustees will formulate the basis to achieve its goals and will report to the Executive Board for approval.

The decree will be effective from the date of issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
