UAE Ambassador succumbs to injuries received in recent terrorist attack in Afghanistan

ABU DHABI, 15th February, 2017 (WAM) -- The Ministry of Presidential Affairs today announced it is mourning the death of Juma Mohammed Abdullah Al Ka'abi, UAE Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, who died from injuries he sustained in the recent terrorist bombing which targeted the headquarters of the Governor of Kandahar in Afghanistan.

In its statement, the ministry said, "It is with great sadness and sorrow that we mourn the martyr of the nation, Juma Mohammed Abdullah Al Ka'abi, who lost his soul for the sake of humanity."

Following the incident last month, Al Ka'abi, was transferred onboard a military plane to Abu Dhabi to receive treatment.

The blast, which struck the provincial governor's office during a visit by the UAE delegation who were attending the opening of an orphanage, killed at least eleven people, including five Emirati diplomats, and wounded 17 others.
