INDEX Holding organises first Investment Partnership Forum in New Delhi

NEW DELHI, 17th May, 2017 (WAM) -- UAE national company INDEX Holding organised the first Investment Partnership Forum in New Delhi yesterday in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in India, the UAE-India Business Council and the Confederation of Indian Industry, CII.

The forum was attended by Dr. Ahmed Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to India, and Ahmed Hareb Al Falahi, Commercial and Trade Attache at the UAE Embassy in India, in addition to more than 120 company directors and investors form India along with officials and representatives from the financial, investment and health sectors at INDEX Holding.

In his opening speech, Al Banna reiterated the importance of these meetings which reflect the active role of the private sector in the UAE and India. He also stressed the strategic relations between the two countries and the special trade exchange between them. In addition, the UAE and India are keen on developing a strategic bond between private companies in the UAE and India and provide all the support required to maintain this relationship.

He also referred to the interests of the UAE leadership and their Indian counterparts to strengthen the economic relations between the two countries through joint visits between the leaders of both countries, highlighting the importance of the recent visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to India and the visit of the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to the UAE.

Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of INDEX Holding, said, "We have a very strong and sustainable relations with Indian companies through the massive Indian participations in the conferences and exhibitions organised by INDEX in the UAE, which exceed 27 specialised conferences and exhibitions annually. The nature of our conferences and exhibitions vary to include health, investment, entertainment, medical tourism, franchises, branding and many more."

On the sidelines of the forum, INDEX Holding and the UAE India Business Council in New Delhi signed an MoU that aims to encourage business, investment and partnership opportunities between the two sides. The MoU was signed by the Chairman of INDEX Holding and Abdul Salam, Director-General of the UAE India Business Council in New Delhi.

The MoU aims to expand cooperation and specify a framework of cooperation between the two sides and assistance in facilitating trade and investments between the UAE and India. In addition, the MoU will help in creating synergies through inviting stakeholders from various industries to participate in events held in the UAE and India.
