Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in Ras al-Khaimah treated over 150,000 patients in three years
RAS AL KHAIMAH, 18th February, 2018 (WAM) -- Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital - Ras al-Khaimah, SKSH-RAK, a leading medical facility serving the northern part of the country, has treated 155,000 patients since it was opened three years ago.
The hospital also ended the suffering of 1,100 patients from outside the UAE, according to figures released on the third anniversary of the opening of the hospital, said Dr. Myung-Whun Sung, CEO of SKSH-RAK, during a ceremony held to mark the occasion.
The hospital has conducted 3,000 major and medium surgeries for tumour removals, open heart surgeries and critical care neurosurgery. Also, the outpatient clinics handled 91,000 patients, while emergency units treated 64,000 cases, he said.
The six-storey, 246-bed hospital provides essential world-class tertiary care services, with a focus on three medical specialties: oncology, cardiovascular and neuroscience.
The hospital operates under the supervision of the Medical Office of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.
