UAE Moral Education Programme to hold Second Principals’ Roundtable from tomorrow

ABU DHABI, 30th April, 2019 (WAM) -- The second Principals’ Roundtable on the Moral Education Programme, hosted by UAE Moral Education, launched under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to promote and instil universal values, will take place on 1st and 2nd May, 2019, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi respectively.

The first day’s events will be at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, while the second day’s events will be at the Park Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi, to accommodate a wide range of senior school officials from all over the country.

The event, which builds on the success of the inaugural roundtable held in January of this year invites over 300 principals from across the emirates to discuss the latest developments in moral education nationally and across the world and identify opportunities for strengthening the UAE Moral Education curriculum.

During the second roundtable, Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director of the Education Affairs Office of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, will deliver a keynote address on the programme, sharing the latest updates on its progress and recent outcomes from its newly-launched standardised assessment, while Dr. Amy Johnston, programme coordinator and consultant for the University of Missouri - St. Louis, will share her academic insights into moral education worldwide and how the UAE can benefit from international lessons.

The roundtable, while providing school leadership opportunities to exchange and discuss experiences also seeks to explore ways of encouraging wider participation with other stakeholders, such as families and members of the community.

Al Nuaimi said "the roundtable provides a national platform aimed at forming strategic cooperation between the programme and the school leadership as they work in tandem to develop solutions to overcome challenges, exchange experiences and explore ways to engage with stakeholders on a wider scale."
