UAE Pro League approves amendments to club licensing regulations

ABU DHABI, 1st August, 2021 (WAM) -- The UAE Pro League (UAEPL) board has approved the amendments to the club licensing regulations for the 2022-2023 licensing cycle.

It also reviewed the preparations for the UAE Pro League awards ceremony, as voting is set to open from 2nd to 5th August, 2021, with winners to be announced at a ceremony on 16th August.

The decisions were announced during the first periodic meeting for the 2021-2022 season, which was held on 31st July, via video conferencing. The meeting was chaired by Abdulla Naser Al-Jneibi, UAE Pro League Chairman, and attended by Jamal Hamed Al Marri, Vice-Chairman of the UAEPL, and board members Mohammed Obaid AlYamahi, Hassan Taleb Al Marri, Tariq Ali Al Shabibi, Saeed Obaid Al Kaabi, Jawaher Abdulaziz Al Suwaidi, and other officials.

The board reviewed the preparations for the 2021-2022 season, as it seeks to develop all aspects of the professional competitions and build on past successes.

The meeting also saw the approval of the revenues' distribution between the professional football companies for the 2020-2021 season.

The board examined developments related to sponsorship, marketing, and technical matters by reviewing the committees' reports in order to discuss the implementation of the best measures needed to ensure sustainable development efforts.

The board asserted the importance of doubling the efforts in the upcoming period that precedes the new season.
