SHARJAH, 30th September, 2022 (WAM) -- The The 9th Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth (SIFF) 2022 platform in the Al Zahia City Centre will continue to operate until the fourth of October in an effort to raise visitors' awareness of the festival, give them the chance to experience a microcosm of the festival, and inspire them to take part in its activities.

The SIFF is held from October 10 to 15 at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre.

The platform, which began operations on September 22nd, offers screenings of 18 animated movies and short documentaries, including six movies for children aged 12 and above and twelve movies appropriate for all ages.

Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of FUNN and, Director of the SIFF, stated about the festival: "The festival's goal is to raise societal awareness of the cinematic arts by communicating with children, teenagers, and parents and inspiring them to participate in and attend its various events, which include a number of discussion sessions, awareness and educational workshops, and training sessions."

"This led us to activate the unique platform at Al Zahia City Centre as a microcosm of the festival's film screenings, as well as integrated awareness, educational, and entertainment events aimed at improving the participants' artistic and aesthetic taste, establishing the culture of children and youth cinema in the Emirate of Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates, and the Arab world, and raising the next generation of young filmmakers," she added.
