Anti-Narcotics Council holds brainstorming session to devise new strategy

ABU DHABI, 17th November, 2022 (WAM) -- Under the directives of H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, the Anti-Narcotics Council held a brainstorming session to devise a new national anti-narcotics strategy for 2022-2023, in the presence of Lt. Gen. Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and General Security in Dubai, chair of the council; Brigadier Saeed Abdullah al Suwaidi, Director-General of the federal anti narcotics general directorate, deputy chair of the council; heads of the national high committees and anti narcotics directors in the UAE.
The workshop was held at the Dubai police officers club and was attended by judges and counsellors, partners and officials from anti narcotics sectors in the UAE.
Lt. Gen. Dhahi Khalfan underlined the importance of such a workshop, with the participation of all stakeholders, to counter drug smuggling and dealing.
He added that this will also allow the development of a new national anti-narcotics strategy to accompany all related challenges locally and globally.
