Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed meets leaders of space agencies from around the world at Abu Dhabi Space Debate
ABU DHABI, 5th December, 2022 (WAM) – H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, has met Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology in India, as well as leaders of space agencies from around the world, at the Abu Dhabi Space Debate. During the visit, H.H. discussed opportunities for cooperation in peaceful space exploration.
Held under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the inaugural Abu Dhabi Space Debate, which is taking place at ADNOC Business Centre until 6 December, and is organised by the UAE Space Agency, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is gathering global figures including Israeli President Isaac Herzog, as well space agency representatives from around the world, to address issues facing growth and innovation, and to forge consensus towards the establishment of new international standards to guide the peaceful pursuit of opportunities in outer space.
H.H. was accompanied by Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, Chairperson of the UAE Space Agency, and Chair of the Higher Committee for the Abu Dhabi Space Debate; Salem Butti Salem Al Qubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency; and Faisal Al Bannai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EDGE Group and Secretary General of the Advanced Technology Research Council.
Taking place over two days, the Abu Dhabi Space Debate is bringing together 300 decision makers, space agency representatives, ministers and leading international companies from 47 countries.
