SHARJAH, 7th May, 2023 (WAM) -- Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators launched the Century Reader Award on Saturday during the activities of the 14th edition of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival.
Hessa Obaid Al Zaabi, Head of the Media Department of Sharjah Children of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, said that the launch of the Century Reader Award was aimed at enhancing cognitive awareness of children from 6 to 18 years old and motivating them to read, in addition to highlighting the importance of reading in reinforcing knowledge and developing abilities.
The winners of the 28 reading challenge, which was introduced at the previous Sharjah Children's Reading Festival edition last year, were honoured today, affirming that 5 children were honored from Sajaya young ladies of Sharjah and Sharjah Children Centre. This challenge was based on reading 28 stories, and the title of each story begins with a letter of the alphabet.
Hessa Al Zaabi pointed out that these reading initiatives reflect the great keenness of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for the Industry of Leaders and Innovators to polish reading, exploration and discovery skills among young people.
