Kazakhstan highlights tourism opportunities at ATM 2023

DUBAI, 7th May, 2023 (WAM) -- Talgat Amanbayev, Chairman of Kazakh Tourism National Company, expressed his pride in his country's participation in the successful session of the 30th Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai, pointing to the participation of approximately 13 Kazakh tourist agencies, five hotels, as well as Air Kazakstan, to showcase the most prominent tourist destination in Kazakhstan.

In statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Amanbayev underscored ATM's importance as an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations in the field of tourism between Kazakhstan and the countries of the region in general, and the UAE in particular, noting that the number of flights between the two countries reached 67 flights per week in 2023, as nearly half a million Kazakh tourists visited the UAE recently.

For his part, Azamat Kalkabayev, Head of the Department of Tourism, External Relations and Creative Industry in Shymkent, southern Kazakhstan, thanked the Dubai government for the facilities it provides to ATM's exhibitors and participants, describing the exhibition as the largest exhibition in the world for those interested in the tourism sector, highlighting Kazakh tourism companies' keenness to periodically participate in it.

Kalkabayev pointed out that a number of agreements have been signed with several government agencies in the region, including a number of Emirati tourism companies, which aim to attract tourists to Kazakh attractions and facilitate their visits in cooperation with his country's government.

According to the CEO of EZ Tours, the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai constitutes an important gateway to the Gulf markets as well as North Africa, as well as a golden opportunity for all tourism companies operating in the field of travel and hospitality to present their programmes and attract many visitors to their markets. He also pointed out that Kazakhstan has operated flights to most countries of the world in 2022, adding that Kazakh companies are seeking to attract tourists to the tourist attractions there.

The 30th edition of the Arabian Travel Market concluded its activities on 4 thMay at the Dubai World Trade Centre, and witnessed the participation of more than 2,000 exhibitors and representatives from more than 150 countries and the presence of nearly 34,000 visitors, representatives of the global travel, tourism and hospitality community in the UAE in cooperation with the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai.
